Prom 2022 trends are ripped straight from pop culture, from channeling your inner Maddy Perez to random cut-outs and endless Y2k fashion trends coming back.

Generation Z is following trends from celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo, Kendall Jenner, Madison Beer, and Euphoria teens on a regular Wednesday morning. These hype trends will have you feeling like a main character on your prom night.

These 1980s trends are coming back strong. From luxe velvet, deep-V necklines, to puffy sleeves, and neon colors, these are the trends you might notice in your prom selection.

“Dresses should feature a slim bodice and princess skirt that hits the mid-calf or floor,” Leaf TV, an online fashion magazine, says.

To be an 80s prom king and queen you need the biggest hair teased to perfection and the fanciest footwear. For the kings, a pastel tuxedo is priceless. Pair it with a ruffled white button up for an even bigger statement. You can complete the look with shiny white dress shoes.

Combat boots are considered the “Olivia Rodrigo effect”. The good 4 u teen popstar has inspired many teens to normalize platform boots and glitzy satin dresses. The One Shoulder Cowl Neck Satin Maxi Dress with combat boots is 100% prom appropriate.

You’re going to see the y2k style all over the prom ’22 dance floor. Most of the trends you’ll see are straight from the year 2001. Throw your prom look all the way back with a 2000s era all-denim look. The Daisy Street x Bratz Corset Back Mini Dress is giving Maddy from Euphoria.

With Jovani Fashion, you can do anything -- stand out and be the main character at prom, attend a wedding, a red-carpet event, or be the star of the show. Paying a bit more for an exquisite dress? Worth it.

“Jovani dresses are made with the highest quality and according to the latest trends so you will feel like royalty when wearing one,” Jovani Blog said.

The flowy dress trend is all about graceful drapes, low necklines, and silk fabrics. These dresses give a soft, romantic feel in their enchanting designs. These gorgeous dresses are perfect for every body type.

Consider opting for a dress with a sheer overlay if you are looking for a dress with an even more unique twist.

If you are looking to shoot some of your free-spirited, nonconformist personality into your prom look, embrace the natural textures with cotton and linen with playful accessories like beading, tassels, and intricate embroidery.

For the prom kings, we’re leaving boring suits in 2021. Luxurious, crushed velvet suits and trendy printed blazers to classic tuxedos in rich, vibrant colors are in. These suave-as-hell fits will have you feeling fly.

If you are going for a chill prom vibe, get yourself a cool slim fit tailored blazer. It’s a laid-back option perfect for any occasion. If your date’s dress or suit is minimalistic or simplistic, get wild with your prom night fit. A red suit serves those subtle punk rock vibes.

If you’re looking for a unique prom outfit shop from small businesses. Many small businesses are trying to turn back to normal and they may have just what you need. You don’t have to spend full retail to get something great.
